Intel Core Duo Thinkpad T60
The biggest feature of the ThinkPad T60 is that it is one of the first laptops Lenovo Centrino Duo capable?. The sample we had was actually a Centrino Duo system as it was equipped with an Intel 945GM chipset, 3945ABG wireless solution and an Intel Core Duo T2600 (2.16 GHz) processor.? IBM does offer other versions of the T60 using the Core Duo processor, but not meet the requirements to be called a Centrino Duo as well.

Essentially the same as its predecessor T-series notebooks did. The T60 body is a rugged plastic that does not bend. The magnesium reinforced lid will not flex and provides amazing protection for the screen. The keyboard do not bend – at all. The thick metal hinges that attach the screen are very rigid and ensure the screen does not float. The keyboard is evidence of the spill and has two drain holes to make sure if you do happen to spill your morning coffee, Starbucks, the liquid is driven to from sensitive components and the back of the laptop. The hard drive is shock mounted and the chassis is a whole new conception of magnesium "roll cage" (it offers 30% more protection than the past T-series chassis), and even if your T60 is dropped and broken the Active Protection System (APS) to stop the hard drive activity to prevent data loss. The double screen latch system locks securely to ensure that the screen stays down when carried around. In other words, there are no shortcuts used in building quality latest ThinkPad notebooks since the Lenovo takeover of IBM – only enhancements.
The inside means that this computer had an Intel chip inside meaning better performance than others, way back in 1993, not that Intel focused on the inside of the computer. Watch it and what will actually be bad for them. All these people do not even recognize the Intel their knowledge with the new logo.
I confess I do not use for Weener (Windows) key. Its a useless feature to have if you use other operating systems or migrate away from windows. It's like solution firewall Nvidia chipset … Another useful feature for "Windows Only" users. (This causes more trouble than its really worth).
Lenovo take all those "all others it has" characteristics, this is not the same ThinkPad more. They are not technologically, as they did.
Granted, the fingerprint scanner and keypad lighting is interesting, but that's all there. OldR50 My ThinkPad has a keyboard illumination too. So I guess the only thing is the fingerprint scanner.
As The ThinkPad Z61m, ThinkPad T60 features a 15.4-inch wide screen display with a 1680 x1, 050 native resolution that provides a large amount Screen real estate (about 26 columns and 51 rows on the spreadsheet Excel default), but can make text appear small. Users who fall behind on their vitamin A supplements can configure the T60 with screen resolution 1280 x800. As with all ThinkPads, a reading lamp back in the bezel above the screen lets you illuminate the keyboard when working in dark environments. The T60 does not integrated webcam found on the frame of the screen Z61m's.
Regarding ThinkVantage is useful … To a certain extent.
I tried to "restore clean" WinXP the hidden partition (like Windows requires a clean install after 2 years of use), and I get a crapload of errors. The Touchpad Trackpoint or appear not to be detected, and so on. And other error messages. I past could not finish the installation. So I unhide the WinXP partition, and formatted the vacuum cleaner, gained back the 8GB hard drive space. This is sufficient to start a quadruple … Win2k, Slackware, FreeBSD and Solaris. (And they all work very well with the trackpoint / touchpad).
In all starting price is higher than comparable systems'; lack of a number of ports not essential but fairly standard and connections. Robust and well-designed case; security features strong, full range of network connections, including WWAN and Bluetooth; swappable internal bay; warranty conditions solid support and well known.
